Is this to prevent the nessecity of a registration
to this link list?
So you will have to keep the archive up to date,
which is your intention anyway, I assume.

Sure - this webstuff sometimes is vastly
timeconsuming. :-|

Maybe it was the time of day I posted the message
which made me sound complicated:
For instance I consider this a useful posting in
the archive:
http://www.buchi.de/SDIY/ShowPost.ASP?2888
This by itself could/would be treated as a "useful
link" as well (as you allready mentioned above).
The connection of the two still independent
systems could be an additional link or button on
the message display page of the Archive which
hands over the link of the posting (at least the
message-ID) and maybe the subject (which IMHO
would be very useful, but this can be done later)
to the script(s) which fills the link list.
In this case from my POV the membercheck would not
be necessary since the data is derived from the
archive.
I'm aware of that filling a form and handling URLs
with parameters needs different techniques und
would need additional time, but I still believe
that it's worthwhile a thought.
And just in case you decided to use other then M$
technology for the link list it still could be
done this way.
Just some rough thoughts,
Michael.
