[sdiy] balanced I/O

I need a balanced I/O circuit for interface of the modular synth
to the tape recorder/hard disk recorder.
I could use transformers, but they have low frequency problems
or they are expensive.

I could use a discrete circuit as you can see in the OP176
application note / data sheet.

Or I could get this very circuit integrated in a SSM21xx something,
no need to match resistors.
That one would cost arround 6 EUR. It has also a line reciever
counter part.

I can see no reason to stay away from
this part if I can get enough (buy 10% more for repair).

Any comments?
