We lost a rabbit in a similar way (pp often mistook it for a cat cause it was quite big and walking free in and around the house)
After the rabbit died the vet found its stomach was full of nylon wire.
Turned out the stupid thing ate the carpet under the bed.
The wire didn't get out and piled up in site, until a early and painful dead :((

So I kept watching, very closely now. And she picked up
another piece, exactly the way she would pick up a piece of

She swallowed it as quickly and easily as a drink of water.

Um, I don't want to worry you, but if you love your cat you should probably take her to the vet. A piece of wire could puncture something inside of her. That would be a painful way to go. I worry about my girlfriend's cats doing that same type of thing. It's almost imposible to keep cats out of trouble. I should probably switch to lead free solder.
