Indeed. This reminds me of a certain Nakamichi AD/DA box which had per-section
regulation, and each section could be very small part of the signal chain, like
one or two amplifiers. Still have the schematics around here somewhere... ;O)
This Krell stuff reminds me of this cross-over filter from Linear Audio (or
something similar) who also ran with zillions of transistors as I recall it.
Anyway, it takes just 4 transistors and a small handfull of resistors to get
started with a simple discrete op-amp, from there you can take it almost
anywhere.
