Thats quite a pity to belly up these rare chips.

Or, use a LM394CH, 2SC1583 or 2SC3381 instead.

Why not make a little dongle board from perfboard? You need to take care
about the temperature compensation anyway! (The uA726 is haveing a dual
transistor and a temperature oven, the suggested duals don't have the
latter.)

I'd also use a dongle board, with a 2SA1549 or other PNP dual.
