This string perked my ears as I was recently looking for a 726 and I found
one (they only had one to find). I believe Kevin Lightner lists on his page
that he has some, but he's asking twice what I got mine for.

As far as subs, Mark Verbos used an Analog Devices SSM2220 with a 2K tempco
as a sub for the 726 on his modified Buchla 258 PCBA. This coverter is
right in the middle of the frequency control portion of the oscillator and
its use does not give the same FM effects as the original Buchla design
using the 726. Unfortunately, 'does not give the same' in this instance is
not as good.

The National part doesn't seem to be a spot-on parametric replacement. Isn't
the 726 match to 20 uV? These are 50. Tonight I will peer into the
datasheet more closely and see if it makes a difference. These last two are
as hard to find (almost) as the part you are wishing to replace, the ua726.

<<MAT02EH and a Tempco resistor>>

Try finding one of those without having to buy a tube of them...just wen
through that as well!
