FW: [sdiy] A book about analogue synthesizer circuits?

Coming from a scientific journal writing background, I think writing in
LaTeX is good for conversion into pdf etc (LyX has already been
mentioned). In which case wouldn't having graphics stored in eps format
be best?

Andy.

As PDF has already been mentioned as the possibly preferred format for a
printout version, why not just sticking to good old PS & PDF?
--------------------------------------
That's a possibility. However, there are many nice things about SVG,
not the least of which is that it's a W3C supported standard rather than
subject to Adobe's whims. SVG is an XML based vector image format so
manipulation, annotation, and conversion to formats you like better,
are all relatively easy. That said, it was just a suggestion. PS is
also an ok format.

Even for an pure online thingy at least I would prefer a downloadable
and
easily printable version over clicking through a set of HTML pages and
scrolling up and down all the time...

You can print HTML if it's not stupidly formatted. There are also
transformers to go from DocBook XML (and some other XML, SGML, and HTML
formats) to PDF, HTML, or PostScript, and servers like Cocoon
(http://xml.apache.org/cocoon/) accept some of these as plug-ins.
