I like this idea, and agree that it would be best to avoid tying the text to a 
particular set of kits. I also agree that a table of contents is the place to 
start.  That, and getting a couple of editors (who won't back down) to 
volunteer. And (FWIW) limiting the idea to PDF at first seems smart. No one 
should have to invest $$ to producing a book, or accompanying kits.

Also, if it'd be useful, I'd like to volunteer a chapter on fundamental issues 
in sound and psychoacoustics as they relate to the other topics, and also 
sidebars in other chapters on psychoacoustical aspects of particular ideas.
