There's always the possibility to make it a print-on-demand book.
This means that the book is printed and sent to a buyer when
requested. This way the authors could also get a small fee for
it. :-)

I have bought books this way and it works great.
This was during the nineties though and I don't know if there
are any companies that do this anymore(?) I'm thinking of the
fact that the air has gone out of e-commerce...
