hey all!
i am debating building the elktor vocoder from the schematic i found on the
e-music archives, has anyone attempted this? i do not presently have a modular
synthesizer so i would probably be adapting it so that there was a 1/4" stereo
input for both the speech and carrier, so i could use my guitar or any synthesizer
i build in the future as the carrier. the schematic seems very, very detailed
(it's very long, a lot of block diagrams plus pcb layouts).
my other idea for my next project is a simple 'trial-run' vco self-contained
unit consisting of one LFO modulating two VCOs in parallel and one VCO in
series. i heard VCOs are hard to build though so i was considering holding
off on that for a little while. eventually (since i have a guitar mind that
thinks of everything as self contained, seperately powered and connected
by long 1/4" cables...) i would be able to use this VCO unit as the carrier,
along with whatever else i can route through a guitar cable.
this got long-winded. i'm really just asking if anyone has any tips on building
the elektor vocoder.
