[sdiy] oscillating a plate

Hmmm....

The resonant modes of a plate are very numerous and closely spaced...
which is why they excel as er... plate reverbs :^P

So exciting 'one' mode of oscillation would be very difficult with any
means.

You might try to shape the plate (like a gong or steel drum) to make some
modes
stronger than others ???
