right, accurate, but not exact. you'd be suprised what difference little inaccuracies make (one of the reasons analog sounds better than digital IMO). 1% of a semitone is 1 cent which is probably barely audible, but the effect of each resistor's tolerance is cumulative (although hopefully it averages out to something pretty near to in tune).
