Hi Jim,
Have a look at them LM837 quad op-amp. Amazingly, Digi-Key has a good price
on them.
Using a 24 bit converter in to Spectra-Lab software, the LM837 has
unmeasurable noise floor relative to -10 dBv. That is the 24 bit A/D
converter is more noisy then the op-amp (M-Audio Delta 66).
Second harmonic distortion is around 0.01% or -80 dBv relative to the
fundamental.
