Y-ellow Charlie 'n' all.
Just to clarify something here. I realize that MySQL is the bee's
knees in dBase territory. Being GPL 'n' all. But unless there's some
program already written to do the job which runs under it, it's not going
to be much use to me.

So the question is the same but now leaning at a 45 degree angle (Not quite
lateral) Is there some kind of parts inventory program already available
that runs under MySQL that comes recommended and publicly available?

But more to the point. What's the load time on MySQL? The beauty of a tiny
tightly packed database program is that it flipps up in seconds, requires
few resources or other overheads. So isn't a pain in the ass to use. But of
course, usually they are proprietary, can't be linked with anything else
and you can't share the data out of them. I have a CD database program
that's like that. It can't even share it's own data with it self on another
machine for that matter.

I guess it would be nice to have MySQL on one of the linux boxes with a
HTML interface through SAMBA and be able to access it from any machine and
all that. Fantastic. A brilliant solution. But unless there's a plug 'n' go
solution just waiting to install itself, I've met snow flakes with less of
a health risk than the notion of me actually getting round to doing it.

I'm not even going to ask about a nice, small, easy to use, hassle free
Open Source spread sheet program to track my crystals and ovens with. :)

Thanks again.

Be absolutely Icebox.
