I saw my Storm Tide Flanger mentioned, and I want to make 2 additions:
(1) (pro BBD) You really don't need that much circuitry for good-sounding BBD
devices. The Amdek Delay Machine is a wonderfull echo device, and it just
has a BBD, two filters, and (if memory serves) a 571 compander.
Most of the Storm Tide is for fancy modulations and for fancy stereo effects,
and you would need this for a ADC/RAM/DAC based flanger, too.
(2) (contra BBD) A good digital flanger (I mean ADC/RAM/DAC, and the rest
analogue) can sound better than my Storm Tide. I like the Delta Lab Effectron
better for the basic Flanging sound (but unfortunately the ADM1020 which I
own is very limited in its modulation capabilities, and it's Mono.)
Anybody heard the new MAM flanger yet? I think it's based on a similar method
as the old Deltalabs. I heard an early prototype last year, and I liked it a lot.
JH.
