[sdiy] Interesting matrix

Hi Paul/all,
well I would guess it is either using a regular AD75019
chip with additional buffers or the more expensive (250 quid?) version
with internal buffering in the
chip. I have been developing a 16x16 matrix patching unit based on the
75019,
to be used for digital control of EMS synthi's and also modular
synthesizers..called the 'Digitrix' with Peter Kember
(aka sonic boom). I think peter posted an email to AH last month about
it.
Ours has 320x240 backlit lcd display of the patching matrix; 4x4 keypad
control; ability to store /load patches, the ability to have user defined
on-screen matrices with naming
of each row/column; naming of patches. We are also working on a midi
implementation with lots of possibilities
beyond patch loading. We are setting up some webpages with pics of the
prototype, which should
be online soon.
cheers
steve thomas
