after the thread on diodes in the feedback loop op an opamp, i tried a few
circuits.
firstly, as far as Gain/Bandwidth product of the opamp is concerned, a 074
sounds much smoother than a 741. probably not news to anyone, and not
totally gbp influenced. but they are the only ones i have on hand at the
moment.
secondly, everyone was talking about using diodes in the feedback loop. does
anyone have any experience using transistors in the feedback loop by using
the base/collector or base/emitter diodes or combination of the two? was
thinking of using a npn with a pnp with the base pins tied, the collector of
the npn, and the emmiter of the pnp connected to the output of the opamp,
and the other two pins connected to the inverting input (so it kinda looks
like a bridge).
or will there be too much base current on the trannies for this to work
effectively?
