Hmmm good one.

1) Moog ladder from anyone (I have TomG VCF2)
2) A 3080 based VCF such as the Aries, ARP Odyssey, or similar to the
    EFM VCF1.  Top honors might go to the Joachim Verghese design which
had a transistor ladder AND the SVF for an ARP retrofit... best of both
worlds
3) Diode Ladder a'la EMS... EFM VCF6

I like the EFM boards because they are inexpensive so I can hack them to

my heart's content ;^)
