These new amps will have need to be in production somewhere around the first
of the year, or we are screwed as the last of Mr. Brown's rteserves are
drying up. Undoubtedly there will be some shipping from finished goods
during the first quarter with the old amps in them as this will be what we
call a 'running change'.

What I've heard (don't hold me to the rail on complete accuracy on this) is
that TI, who now owns Burr Brown discontinued both the VCA and a quad op
amp. Why I don't know. The op amp though has been gone for a couple of
years and we've been running around like Deiter Doepfer looking for CEM
chips to fill our requirements.

This is turning out to be like your child giving up their bottle however, as
much better things are coming as a result of us not being able to get these
components and having to look into new solutions. Much MUCH better.
