Odp: [sdiy] discrete VCOs

I got an idea, maybe an overkil, but still...

since early VCOs are so fat/warm, but suffer from stability errors, why not make
2 VCOs. One discrete, old crappy design with no tempco even, that sounds
warm - this will be the output. Second one - solid as a rock, 5ppm max, but
very boring and definitely "cold". Both are controlled from the same CV.
Now the fun part - compare frequencies of them, and in case of any error,
adjust discrete VCO's CV to tune it up. A sort of FLL. It will track only
on slow changing notes, and who cares about CV tracking in fast modulation
anyway.
What do you think? Am I crazy?

and yes, I'll make that Axxe VCO to see how it sounds...
someday next year ;)

BTW, anyone brave enough to define border between WARM and FAT?
