[sdiy] midi-cv convertor comparisons?

I'm going to create a bedroom studio soon out of mainly voltage-controlled, non-MIDI gear. I've seen many convertors advertised, but no critical reviews of them. Are there any comparison tests/reviews on the web, opinions to be found on this list, or other help & advice you people can offer? thank you!
