  Boy, did I sleep through this thread...I happened across
an adaptor for this chip just last week, part #ACS1322 at
bgmicro.com ($2.95USD). Unfortunately it looks like an
adaptor to break out the pins for easier access, not to
fit the chip into a standard .1" pitch footprint.

  I'm sure there are dozens of repaired arcade boards out
there with this thing hot-glued on top and Kynar wire all
over the place but I don't reckon that's your cup of tea.
Might be useful info if you resell the chips, however.
