The PAiA Hot Springs sounds terrific-- provided you're looking for the
"I'm sealed in a dumpster at the bottom of the sea" effect (which,
incidentally, I am.) Unfortunately (or, from a
creative-experimental-soldering-iron-in-hand perspective, perhaps
fortunately) it's a very barebones affair-- *NO* controls to speak of,
save the internal "tuning" trimpot. Basically it's just
input-->MAGIC-->output.
