Noo...no...no..no...The LM13700 is not the same as the CA3280. The biggest difference is the bias circuitry for the linearinzing diodes...the LM13700 doesn't have one, you must provide the bias yourself. Also, the
CA3280 is a bit quieter than the LM13700 and seems to have less bias feed thru.
This is not to say, that the LM13700 isn't useful. There are certain applications where the CA3280 bias circuitry gets in the way. Also, for less critical applications, the LM13700 has the distinct advantage of being
a lot less expensive (LM13700 < $1 (1s)...CA3280 > $4 (1s) ).
By the way, I still have some CA3280's I can sell. I think I was selling them for $2.80 each.
