a while ago my superviser (here at the university computer science department where I'm working for the summer) showed me a "voice synthisizer" thing he had part in designing/building back in the 70s, it basically conisited of a joystick controlling some formant filters, and slider controling oscilator pitch, touch switches to trigger the oscilator on, and some more touch switches to trigger white noise for 't's and 's's and so on...
you had to make it talk by moving the joystick and slider and touching the switches...
he photocopied me some instructions for building and using it, prehaps I should scan and upload it some time... (when I get acess to a scanner)
cheers - Dom
