[sdiy] Setting up PDN on Frequency Shifter

I have been asked to calibrate a Frequency Shifter.

I know the general theory of operation, but would anyone care to share
practical tips on the best way to set up the phase difference network?

I know the two sides will form a circle at 90 degrees when connected to the
X and Y inputs of a oscilloscope. Is this accurate enough to get the best
sideband rejection, or is there another method?
