[sdiy] DR-110 Sync Input

Hi List,

I've just purchased a second DR-110... I bought it broken (cheap!) and only
had to repair one broken trace to get it functioning 100%!

Well, now I've added a 12ppqn sync input to it, so I can use it with my
other gear. I came up with a neat new way to implement the mod: I
disconnected the stock "Accent Trigger Out" and rewired it as the 12ppqn
sync input... it's a fairly trivial procedure, and it doesn't require any
new holes in the case. I also added protection diodes and a
current-limiting resistor to avoid CPU damage (which most of the other
DR-110 sync mods don't seem to include)

All new components are soldered directly to the solder-side of the analog
board, which is nice because there isn't much room for an extra circuit
board in there.

I've provided several drawings of the component placement, schematic, etc.
I hope some of you find this useful, and any comments are welcome!

PS: I've trimmed the battery tray to accept a 9V battery instead of (4)
"AA" cells. This provides more space to install circuit boards in the
future. I'm adding postive-going trigger outputs for each voice & accent
(on a 9 pin D-Sub) very soon, so the extra room will be great for the
inverter / buffer board.

With the new sync input and the trigger outputs, I'll soon be able to use
this as a sequencer to control percussion voices from my modular synth...
but it will also run on batteries so I can still bring it wherever I go.
Keep watching my DR-110 section if you're interested! Should be online
within a month.
