[sdiy] Painting IC's

I'm going to be messing with some logic IC's and I thought
I would paint white on top of the IC's and draw the logic
symbles with a black pen to make it easier to build test circuits
on bread boards from my circuit diagrams.
Anybody do anything like that?
Would it cause any problems like heating?
I wouldn't think it would but still a beginer.
