You-all may remember that a few months ago, I was whining about my
difficulty in locating a sequencer that suits my artistic needs <sniff>.
Well, I have the solution. For the past couple of months, Jim Patchell and
I have been working out the design for this sequencer, and we (hell, let's
be frank: the other Jim is doing all the work) have just reached the point
were circuit design and front-panel layout are nearly complete.
I've put together a Web site describing the project, at
http://www.technotoys.com/mikado. Your comments are invited!
>From my perspective, I have a special plea for anyone familiar with the
Schaeffer Frontplatten system: if you see any impracticalities in this
panel, please let me know. In particular, I have several places where
engraved lines overlap drilled holes.. mostly due to my laziness and use of
a grid for layout. All other comments are of course welcome.
Special thanks to Paul Perry for suggesting this route.
And I bet nobody can guess where the name Mikado comes from (hint: not the
Emperor of Japan).
