[sdiy] Current Draw

Dear David,
Set your DMM for "milliamps" and plug the leads into the correct
jacks. Place the DMM between (in series with) the plus power connection
on the board and the plus power source, and connect ground as usual.
Power up the module. The current draw of the module should appear. If
it's a bipolar supply, it wouldn't hurt to check the negative rail too.
Also be sure to take an output signal from the module and twiddle the
knobs. Some circuits can draw much more power when put to work. I might
add that 500mA seems a little low right off the bat. Wouldn't you want
power to spare in case you add modules? I'd shoot for at least an amp, if
not two, but this may be overkill.

Regards,
Joe Kramer
