Long ago, back in about 90, Smith-Weyer Labs had upgrades for some of
these units, such as the Proteus line, the MT-32 iirc, and a few other
units to increase signal to noise and kill of the hiss.. It only
concerned the output stages and powersupply iirc.
I thought all it was was a swap out of some caps, some opamps, and
bigger powersupply caps.
Thats where I would start anyway if you have to do it yourself. hence,
diy ;)
