I remember an interview of Eno where he said he recorded 3 minutes of 
street noise from his
apartment window and then listened to it over and over. He said after a 
while he came to
like it and would anticipate certain car door slams and dog barks.

Might be hard to get into rotation on most radio playlists, but if you 
did, one could churn
out hits like those boy bands ;-)

It would definitely be more interesting listening.
