Well FUNNY about this but I just resurrected my 20 year old CV
Pedal made from an old CryBaby. I used a single NPN Transistor as a voltage
follower so that the output would be reasonably independant of the load.
You could also use a higher value pot that way... and maybe extend battery
life as well.
No need to though... a simple pot will be OK as well....
