[sdiy] Balanced/unbalanced inputs?

Simple (ha! like anything in this game is simple...)

If its a 3-pin XLR connector (like on expensive mics)
then its balanced. Its its a 1/4" jack like on a
guitar, count the rings in the end. If there are 2
rings plus the barrel then its probably balanced. Or
stereo. If theres one ring plus the barrel then its
unbalanced.
