Peer Bode (http://iea.art.alfred.edu/html/people/bode.htm), son of Harald 
Bode, is an audio visual artist. He teaches at Alfred University. He's done 
loads of stuff using analog equipment (not sure who built it) and was an 
early digital user. A search on Google should turn up tons of links.
