For a small to medium system, the best and safest way to go is the
Blacet PS500. It's linear, audio friendly, uses a toroid, and comes in a
case with fuse and voltage selector. Plus, it has 6 .156 connectors to
power your modules already built in, with an available expansion board.
Getting AC zapped or burning down the house is not worth the DIY risk;
save your design skills for the low voltage stuff.
The price is $79; a bargain by any standards.
