Hi

It is YES . You need at least 2 contact pins .
Most of matrix boards are ( or were) used in "programming" applications, and for this reason , pins (jacks) often contain diodes instead of the resistors you
need to transform the matrix in an analog adder ( like EMS... ).I have done this on a recycled Ghielmetti matrix and modified plenty pins to drop a smd resistor
inside. It was a weird job, very thin to do , take tons of time... It is also important to put buffers on all i/o and shielded wire if you want a "low
interaction" system... It works very well since now 2 years in my ASM-1X (http://m.bareille.free.fr) even if sometime i find the 2mm diameter pins a bit
small.... But i did not had the choice for the size !

I do not know prices for Info Lite ... Rather hi i think , but not sure . Don't forget to add pins cost...

Regards

Marc B.
