Y-ellow all.
Now here's a thing. I came across this site a few months back. I
won't dignify them by giving the hURL. Basically what they do is ransom
datasheets for money. They sledge the search engines so that as many
possible references to their web site crop up in any given search. When you
go there, no shit, this site is laid out just like one of those porn sites.
Where the front page offers you the "information" you want but when you
click it demands a payment of 39 bux a month to access data sheets. So
between them and everyone else who has the afore mentioned transistors on
their inventory list, it makes the information almost impossible to find
unless you're prepared to be just as sneeky as these assholes.

They have a clone site in a few languages. Russian being one of them. Now I
can't read Russian but the web site is laid out similarly. So I took the
basic data from the ransom site and fed it into the Russian version and
there it was. PDFs and no ransom. Suckers!

This reminds me of the recent story of a US distributor of flat-bed
scanners called UMAX (If memory serves) They started charging for driver
updates. You want your scanner to work with BOSH XP? Pay up fo'! They
didn't seem to realize that the web sites of the distributors of the same
products in Europe and other countries weren't quite the nazis that their
American counter parts were and had all the same driver updates
downloadable for free on their respective web sites. Apparently it seems
that UMAX America is a business going out of business.

But it begs the question. Maybe it's safer to deal with some dodgy street
vendor with questionable products that it is to deal with some presumably
reputable vendor. Coz at least you know where you stand with a questionable
street vendor and he probably knows when he's lying.

What's next. National semiconductor charging to download their data sheets?
I don't think so. Not if they wanna sell their products they won't. As for
the proprietors of this web site, they're just another blood sucking
parasitic entity on the net.

Two rants in one day. I'm really outclassing myself.

But I found the data. Now to see if I can cross reference it with something
cheap and available.

Be absolutely Icebox.
