I'm posting this on behalf of John (JIXIX at aol.com), who wrote me to say he
recently purchased a Siel DK-600 that apparently arrived WITHOUT its CPU
-- the TMS 7000.
Back when I was repairing DK-600s, I was unable to find any sources or info
for these -- if anyone can help, or has a dead DK-600 or Expander lying
around, please contact him directly.

This brings me to another topic -- as someone who enjoys repairing &
restoring old synths (at least, I USED to enjoy it, until this @^$@!!*&#
Prophet 600 that's been stealing my sleep for the past couple of weeks),
I've really gotten leery of those ads on e-bah for non-working synths that
state "I don't know ... could just need a cleaning" & it turns out that
half the ICs are missing from the unit. What with the pawnshops charging
impossible prices for questionable machines, and the same un-resurrectable
synths recirculating over & over on e-blah, where does one go anymore to
find beasts that can be repaired?
I'm not in this for the money; just for the grins.
