That's pretty interesting. Your solution I mean. This is a common
problem with most alesis products. Or at least the one's that have back-lit
LCD displays. But then Alesis gear is like that. It is possible to buy LED
packs already made up like this but how thick they are I'm not entirely
sure. Alternatively a standard backlit LCD panel should be a direct
replacement. I haven't looked by they're usually all a standard interface.
On the other hand, my quadraverb is almost at the "Why is it all dark in
here?" stage so I might look into your solution. Perhaps not a rainbow
effect but a nice blue glow would look tasteful. And you could certainly
ask 3 times the going rate on ebay for it just on that basis alone. :)
If you get some pictures of the fix, I'd be interested to see 'em. Prolly a
few others would as well.
