Sorry for OT, but I think most/most of us are musicians and
among us are also many composers and might be interested in
this.
Once when there was a discussion about using natural events
as inputs to our modules, I thought of using a photo
receptive device to monitor the sun as an LFO. It might be
a very long track. I keep track of the hourly air
temperature... I've got about 4 months worth of data.

A group of musicians are working with an astrophysicist to
put together a performance built around signals from space
recorded over the last 40 years. Commissioned by NASA, the
musical production "Sun Rings" is a collaboration between
the string group Kronos Quartet and University of Iowa
