Yes... its "lifetime warranty"  (in english)

but WHOSE lifetime ?

Lifetime of the user ? Original Purchaser ?  Lifetime of some
small invertabrate sea creature ?  Lifetime of the Tool itself ?

"Yes... it looks like it's life is over.. sorry...."

Often the tools that are "lifetime warranty" are no longer made
by the company, or the company that offered the warranty has
been acquired sixteen times and the new owners don't accept the
warranty.

Now about AMP/Tyco... who can say ?  They are in the
Enron - Worldcom - Xerox class right now...  not an
enviable position (unless you were the CEO who robbed the
company blind....)
