These two pieces have been the mainstay for most of my percussion
needs for the past couple of years, but now I find myself using them less
and using my ER-1, modular, and (cough)sampler(cough cough) more. So, I'd
like to sell them.
The TR-707 is in fine shape, apart from having its wall wart
hard-wired into the back. I got it secondhand, and the power supply jack
was dodgy so I cut it out and hard-wired in the wall wart. There's about
6-7 feet of cord between the wart and 707.
The Techstar TS-305 is a beast which I've modded to a fair extent.
The Tom 1 and Tom 2 channels are cross-modulated, with the amount of
modulation controlled by the "emphasis" knob of Tom 1. The tuning range on
all voices has been widened to allow for sub-bass thuds as well as
high-pitched ringy noises. The "MEMORY/MANUAL" switches have been removed,
and in their place I installed CV in jacks for the Tom 1, Tom 2, and Bass
voices, and a Noise In jack for the Snare and Tom 3 voices. The trigger
for the Tom 1 voice has been wired to the Tom 2 voice to allow them to be
triggered simultaneously.
When used alongside the 707, all of the Techstar's voices can be
triggered using MIDI- i always just used the individual instrument outs to
go to the "EXT IN" input on the Techstar, which means that it is velocity
sensitive as well. (The 707's output volume for each voice varies with
velocity.)
These pieces typically go for around $150-200 each; I will sell
them together for $300. Shipping will be approx. $20 via priority mail. If
you are interested, please send email and I will send you pictures. Paypal
is preferred.
For a little extra, you can have my 12-space aluminum rack +
stainless steel rack shelf I used to support the 707 and Techstar, if you
like. (shipping will, obviously, be more) I will also include a few
patchcords and a MIDI cable if you're running low on those.
thanks
andy
