i think lucite is pretty brittle now that you mention
it. the kind of plastic i was looking at at the
plastic store was a pretty dense acrylic, but i cant
remember if it had a brand name or not. ill know it
when i see it.
i hadnt thought that drilling plastic would be more
difficult than aluminum! i had imagined it might chew
the plastic up a bit. ill need to do alot of
experimenting first. ill look for carbide tips too.
my college has a pretty nice machine shop, but i might
get some static for drilling pink plastic. eh...

definitly! i saw a "tell your fortune" machine at the
mall a few years ago that had LEDs around the edge of
an engraved piece of plastic. the engraved part of
the plastic was bright red while the rest was kind of
dull clear red. very very cool! thats what i would
like to do with the panels.
thanks for the insights!
