Hi Jim,
Just for your information, when I designed the prepatching for the
Mini-Modular (http://www.minimodular.com), I specifically designed it to
support the SEQ-303 program. The portamento is MIDI controllable to support
the slide buttons on SEQ-303. The two together make a wicked little 303 like
"whoop-squawk" device.

Probably not even possible with Dieters tendency to PCB board mount the
Minijacks and controls.

Not advisable with the way the interconnect assemblies are designed.

Not necessary and a waste of panel space (IMHO). In order to interface
between a minijack and banana system, all you need is a wire with a miniplug
(tip connected) on one end and a banana plug on the other. Establish a
single ground connection between the two systems.
You can modify existing banana cables by soldering a miniplug on one end. It
takes about 5 minute per cable. Works great, lasts for years. The whole
banana to other connector hassle is ridiculously exaggerated, it is really
very easy. Just connect the banana cable to the tip of whatever connector
you want to use, leave the shield lead unconnected.
