Yep, I agree with Paul.
But adding some glue with filling capability, like PU construction glue or
epoxy
to the equation makes for a more solid construction than washers alone.
I used this for fitting 6mm switches in 10mm holes.
The nut of the 6m switch bussing is 10mm,
however because of the glue I didn't need to add a larger washer on the
front side.
So they look exactly the same as the other switches (with correct 6mm
holes).
