[sdiy] the dreaded SH-101 hum

Hi All,

I'm trying to eliminate SH-101 hum while using an AC
Adapter. I've installed a MIDIJack successfully and as
such now need to use a 12V 500ma power supply.

I have three power supplies of varying quality (one is
very good) but they all put out the AC hum (and did so
before the MIDIJack installation).

this link:
http://machines.hyperreal.org/manufacturers/Roland/SH-101/mods/roland.SH-101.antinoise.mod.txt
suggests to install a large cap at power input. I have
tried a 1000uf with no real help. Anyone tried the
10000uf with success?

Also I seem to get a 'boost' in the hum during when
the synth gate is on.

Has anyone found a good method of 'de-sensitizing' the
SH-101 to better work with wall warts?

Thanks

Rob
