I am just now beginning to look into this...well, actually, I need
to put a USB port on a product at work, which became important when I
pointed out that there are timing issues with MIDI...er, I mean
RS232....did I say Midi?... but, like I say, kill as many birds as
posible with one stone as you can... ;^)
I am looking at the Cypress ScanLogic chips (SL811HS to be exact).
Anybody know of any other manufacturers of USB slave chips that are
suitable for embedded processors? The SL811 looks pretty cool. But I
seem to remember that National had one (they have probably already made
it obsolete), and somewhere in my office I have a data sheet for the
PDIUSBD12 from Philips. Anybody have any pros/cons between the
ScanLogic chip and the Philips chip?
