I like to use SSM2164 too, although I haven't figured out yet
a proper way to thermally compensate them, i.e. the expo part.
Small NTC in series with controll input helps a little, but
it's not perfect at all.
And when I want linear control, I use discrete transistor VCA.
Or LM13700.
I'm only affraid that they will discontinue it saying, that
their amplifiers with digital control (also from SSM2xxx
family) are easier to use. They did that with SSM2044
if I remember correctly.
