next time I need a bass synthesizer, I'll just call you!  :)

My subwoofers dont go all the way down to 20Hz, so you could come over and
just wave 2 hands back and forth at my ear and beef up the bottom end...

;)

best I can do is 16ths at a little >140 BPM, and thats only for maybe a
measure at a time... but I thought we already established that midi can
handle about 4mSec/note throughput... If you wanted to replicate this
excercise via midi, why not just press all the keys down at the same time?
That should give ~ 5mSec delay between notes, right?  I cant hear the
effects of a 5ms delay between 2 notes, unless the notes are the same, in
which case it sounds a little "Phasey".  Playing a 10 note chord over midi
sounds like your playing a chord, not a really fast arpeggio... to me
anyway.
